Take Your Time to Get Used to the New Civic
This relates to Europe, mostly, because the model would be built for its markets. While the three versions (sedan and coupe included) arrive in North America, Europe has the hatchback only. So we just couldn’t miss it.
Well, the Honda’s hatch gets bigger and bigger. Exactly this one’s grown up to 4497mm long, 1800mm wide and 1421mm roof line. Comparing with the previous generation, the silhouette of which is the solid flowing line from the front to the back, the 10th Civic has a clearly defined edge between the hood and A-pillars. The rear spoiler creates the gentle slope from the roof, contributing to better aerodynamic.
We see the twin-exhausts, the extra mesh grills and the C-shaped rearlights – all these are the new features of the updated vehicle. But what we didn’t notice with the naked eye is the use of «high-efficiency joining technology». The company claims it is improved by 52% in respect of the torsional stiffness. The curb weight is also reduced by 15 kg. And we have no trouble believing that.
The hatch is available with 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine producing 129bhp and 1.5 turbo four-top making 182bhp.
The carmaker produces the next viable model of the Civic range. It seems that the persistent efforts along with the modern flow in design and the use of new technologies definitely push Honda forward.
